There are many components that differentiate music festivals from one another. Some things that play a role in the individuality of a festival are music genres, location, weather, age group of festival-goers, and size. These things tend to determine the attire/style of a certain festival. After music festivals, you usually see an explosion of pictures on social media of people who attended. One of the first things I pay attention to is what people wear. I love seeing the creative ways people dress. When I attend festivals, what I wear is a large part of the preparation and excitement. Before I was interested in attending festivals I used to think that festivals were only raves where people wore colorful lingerie and fishnet tights. With festivals becoming more mainstream, there are many different styles that go along with different festivals.
Snowglobe Music Festival has always been my favorite festival not just because of the music and the snow atmosphere, but what people wear is comfortable and fun. Since the weather at Snowglobe is below 50 degrees and snowing, people wear clothes that keep them warm. Usually, you see people wearing ski jackets and yoga pants/leggings or ski pants. There are also people who wear onesies or animal costumes because they usually keep you pretty warm.
What people usually wear:
- colorful leggings
- ski attire
- snow boots
- hats, gloves, and socks
- ski goggles
- layered clothes
- glitter
Coachella tends to be very hot and dusty, due to it being located in Palm Springs. I’ve seen people wear bathing suits or as little clothes as possible.
- bathing suits
- crochet clothes
- fishnet
- chainmail
- layered jewelry
Outsidelands occurs in early August in San Fransisco, California. San Fransisco tends to be foggy and cold, while you will be warm in the crowd most people dress warmly.

- black clothes
- leopard print
- fluffy jackets
- boots
- sneakers
