Music festivals aren’t only about the music. A lot of the time they provide art and put a large focus on food vendors. Attending a music festival is one big experience and one of the things that contribute to that experience is the food. Although the food at festivals can be extremely overpriced, there are a lot of trendy delicious options.
This past year Coachella featured a charcoal soft serve vendor called Little Damage (pictured above). You wouldn’t normally think a music festival would have fun snacks like this but it was really exciting to spend time trying new foods. The ice cream was a great option since its extremely hot in Indio. These soft serve cones are fun to post pictures of because they are so pretty and aesthetically pleasing.
One of my favorite vendors was at Snowglobe 2016. They had a booth with Metro Minis Gourmet Donuts. They were serving about 8 mini donuts with various toppings; apple cinnamon, smores, chocolate, powdered sugar, bacon maple, and more. I remember these were the best donuts I had ever had and it made it even better than they were nice and hot while it was snowing.
I think it’s incredibly smart for festivals to have such trendy and popular food. This gives great business to the vendors, especially when people are posting pictures of the food they are eating. And it’s nice to have plenty of options, not just hot dogs and popcorn, which would be provided at a concert in a stadium or arena. Although most food items will cost you around $15, I think it’s worth it, not only because it’s your only option, but you get to try new types of food, the food is usually amazing, and it adds to the whole exciting experience of being at a music festival.
